What sets Urban Research (UR) Books titles apart? What issues are particularly important to the imprint?
UR – Urban Research – is focused on questions of the city, very broadly conceived.
We have already published volumes dealing with speculative design propositions, with issues of climate change and resilience, with the character and use of public space, with ethnographies of informality, with geographies of incarceration, with alternative planning for contentious sites, and with urban history and theory.
This is just a start! Our reach – like the city itself - is global and we want to be at the center of the debate over the future of our exponentially urbanizing planet and to be a source of many solutions.
